When a bungling Rod “The Rocket” Williams fakes his own death and takes up work in Chicago performing as an impersonator – of himself – he gets a hell of a lot more than he bargained: a bubbly femme fatale, a shadowy night stalker, a murderous neighbor, a pensive Mafioso, a mad Greek professor, and an elevator straight to Jimmy Hoffa!

FAWNEY RIG (98,000 words) is a dark comedy that finds the hard-luck glam rocker Rod, alias Steve Pinskey, stumbling through four Midwest states barely escaping almost certain death at every turn. Like Singleton’s The Half -Mammals of Dixie, much emphasis lies with an assortment of twisted characters eking out a living in strange quarters. The reader may also draw a distinct comparison between the portly Pinskey and Gogol’s woefully unprepared Chichikov in Dead Souls. And finally, as Thompson viciously skewered the American Dream in Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, FAWNEY RIG also pays tribute to the epic struggle of one man on a journey to find himself, no matter the cost.?

Novel set in the indiscernible Midwest. A drunkard must come to terms with the death of his sister, the meth addiction of his best friend, and an entire town's obsession with itself. Meanwhile, he must also learn to live sober.
